ENML Mint Toothpaste Tablets: Every Ingredient, Explained

What actually goes into a toothpaste tablet? It's a fair question — and one we love answering, because ENML's ingredient list is short, deliberate, and has nothing to hide. Every ingredient in our Mint toothpaste tablets earns its place, and in this guide we walk through each one: what it is, where it comes from, and what it does in the formula.

The Short Version

ENML Mint toothpaste tablets are fluoride-free, SLS-free, and plastic-free, built around micro-hydroxyapatite — a calcium-based mineral that makes up roughly 97% of tooth enamel and 70% of dentin. The rest of the formula exists to clean gently, taste great, and hold a tablet together without any of the additives that give conventional toothpaste its neon color and synthetic foam.

Ingredient by Ingredient

Ingredient What it is What it does in the formula
Micro-hydroxyapatite A calcium-phosphate mineral — the same mineral that makes up most of your tooth enamel The hero ingredient in our fluoride-free formula. Gently cleans and polishes the tooth surface for a naturally brighter, healthy-looking finish.
Sorbitol A naturally derived sweetener Adds gentle sweetness with no sugar, and helps keep tablets from drying out.
Microcrystalline cellulose A plant-derived binder Holds the tablet together and breaks down cleanly as you chew.
Xylitol A natural sweetener from birch and corn Rounds out the flavor with sugar-free sweetness.
Erythritol A fermented natural sweetener Balances sweetness and improves the tablet's texture.
Sodium bicarbonate Baking soda A gentle, low-abrasion cleanser that helps lift everyday surface stains.
Calcium carbonate A purified chalk mineral A soft polishing agent that helps sweep away debris without harshness.
Natural spearmint & peppermint Mint essential oils The cool, clean flavor — real mint, not synthetic flavoring.
Menthol The cooling compound in mint That crisp, fresh-breath finish that lasts after brushing.
Sodium cocoyl glycinate A coconut-derived cleanser A mild foam that lifts away debris — the gentle alternative to SLS.
Zinc citrate A food-grade zinc salt Helps keep breath feeling fresh.
Stevia leaf extract A plant-based sweetener A touch of natural sweetness to finish the flavor.
Magnesium stearate & silicon dioxide Mineral processing aids Keep tablets uniform and smooth during manufacturing.

What's Not in ENML

  • No fluoride. We build the formula on micro-hydroxyapatite instead — with zero fluorosis risk, which also makes the tablets a comfortable choice for households with young kids still learning to spit.
  • No SLS. Sodium lauryl sulfate is the harsh detergent behind the aggressive foam in many pastes — and it can irritate sensitive mouths. Our coconut-derived cleanser foams gently instead.
  • No titanium dioxide, no synthetic dyes. Toothpaste doesn't need to be blindingly white or neon blue.
  • No plastic tube. Tablets live in a refillable glass jar or travel tin, with paper refill pouches.

Why Micro (Not Nano) Hydroxyapatite

Hydroxyapatite comes in different particle sizes. ENML deliberately uses micro-hydroxyapatite — a larger, well-characterized particle that isn't classified as a nanomaterial, so it comes without the regulatory questions that surround nano-scale particles in some markets. Curious about the details? Read our full guide: Micro vs. Nano Hydroxyapatite.

Designed by Dentists, Made for Daily Ritual

ENML was formulated by practicing dentists — led by Clinical Director Dr. Jordan Harper, DMD — before a single jar was sold. The goal was a short ingredient list where every entry has a clear job: clean gently, polish to a naturally brighter, healthy-looking finish, freshen breath, and hold together in a tablet that travels anywhere without a tube.

How to Use

  1. Pop one tablet in your mouth and chew until it forms a paste.
  2. Brush with a wet toothbrush for two minutes.
  3. Spit, rinse lightly, and smile.
